PLATINET® Metal: A unique ECI metal, PLATINET® is a Platinum and Sterling Silver combination of alloys that gives you a Bright White Color and a High Luster Finish. PLATINET® captures the bright luminescence of the sun. Maintaining the beauty of this radiant metal is simple and with proper care, your PLATINET® metal designs can last for generations.
PLATINET® Care: Like sterling silver, PLATINET® metal can tarnish, but due to the Platinum mix you will not experience the common tarnishing of Sterling Silver. Care is minimal and can be handled with a simple silver tarnish cloth. Otherwise simply wash in warm sudsy water and dry thoroughly. To remove tarnish or fingerprints on PLATINET®, use ECI silver polishing cloth or another quality.
PLATINET® Storage: Once cleaned, and polished, PLATINET® metal must be kept properly stored. Our ECI Blue flannel bags will protect it from abrasion and offer a degree of tarnish prevention. Bags made of “Pacific” cloth are also very effective in preventing tarnish. If the climate is humid, place a small packet of demoisturizing crystals (e.g., silica gel) inside the bag.
STERLING SILVER is an alloy created when copper is added to pure silver in order to make the resulting compound more durable and less soft. Usually, sterling silver has a purity of 92.5%, meaning that 7.5% of the alloy is made of copper or another metal (usually nickel or zinc).
CUBIC ZIRCONIA is a colorless, synthetic gemstone made of the cubic crystalline form of zirconium dioxide.
